Cutting and trimming journal pages transforms a standard notebook into an interactive, sculptural work of art. By altering edges, shaping corners, or trimming sections, you can create unconventional shapes and curate a variety of artistic expressions among pages.
That said, I applied this method by cutting out the center of the pages to create a “window” that reveals part of the next page. I taped around the opening to form a whimsical frame, inviting curiosity and encouraging the reader to turn the page to discover what lies behind the window.
I watched a few journaling experts show off different techniques on their pages. One that caught my eye was cutting or trimming pages to link two or three together, making a connected artistic series.

I felt that trimming the page itself is an engaging way to manage and expand the limited space of the journal pages. Trimming enables you to add different materials as an extension of the page, creating a unique expression that reflects your personal style.
.*Materials I used for this journaling:
1.0 & 0.5 felt pen.
Cutter to cut-out the center of the page.
Post-it.
Graphic stickers and tapes.
Magazine cut-out images.
Graphic rubber stamps
Macchiato
