Relaxed coastal lifestyle
My slow mornings, salty ocean breezes, and a rhythm dictated by the tides.

I live a simple life near the beach in southern California, and my mornings start before the town gets busy. It’s about less than 5 minute drive to the beach, and my day begins early with a quiet stroll along the shore, enjoying the ocean breeze and the calming sound of the waves.
.*Materials I used for this journal:
Blue color calligraphy pen & 0.5mm color felt pen.
Graphic stamps and tapes.
Printout of my pictures I took.

One of the nicest things about this beach town is seeing people go surfing before they start their day or head to work. Each morning, a handful of them paddle out, chasing even the smallest swells, and it’s always a fun to watch their determination. By the way, the ocean stays chilly in the morning, even in summer, so wetsuits are a must. I always notice every surfer zipped into one, ready for the cold wave.
Here are a few more reasons why I enjoy the beach environment:
Most people in our community are easy-going and humble. Many worked hard for years, retired comfortably, and now enjoy their days at a slower pace. Chatting with them always put me at ease.
Another thing I love about this beach town is how easy it is to sit and think while watching the waves, horizon, and seagulls. The sound of the waves helps me relax and sparks my creativity, making it easier to write my notes.
Finally, I love the feeling of stepping from cold water into warm sand. It might sound odd, but that tingling sensation relaxes me and feels good for my health.

After my walk, I usually head to my favorite neighborhood coffee shop. The rich aroma of freshly roasted beans and the warm greeting from the barista make it the perfect place to settle in. I sit at a quiet table with a hot latte, catching up with friends over casual conversation. When we finish chatting, I pull out my journal, enjoying the coastal air and the peaceful hum of the cafe as I write my daily thoughts and reflections.

Despite the steady rhythm of joggers passing by, the sidewalk along the beach keeps its tranquil charm. It invites my thoughts to wander freely as I walk.
